The Knocknarea Walk 14KM

The Knocknarea Walk starts in a very beautiful but little known spot called “the Glen” with great views over Ballisodare Bay. Next is the steady climb to Queen Maeve’s Grave high on Knocknarea, then through rolling landscape and on to the quite unique aspect of this walk – the walk to Coney Island (subject to tidal movements).

Coney Island is 1 mile from the mainland, still has its own community and of course a little Irish Pub. On this walk there is the option to finish in the seaside village of Strandhill, Coney Island or Sligo Town centre.

Because this is a linear walk two cars are required or alternatively transport should be arranged with the hotel.

Some of our Walking Packages include transport.

There are a number of other walks to and around Knocknarea where additional transport is not required - we will be happy to advise at hotel reception.

" We were looking for wedding venues and found Cromleach Lodge.

We visited and stayed there a couple of times before the wedding. Every time we visited we met the owners Christy and Moira who are very much hands on owners giving it the personal touch.

Every meal we have had has been wonderfully prepared and presented with great panache. They had no problem catering for 120 people with restaurant quality service.

We got married there in aug09 and cannot fault anything about the day, we are planning on celebrating our anniversary there.&
The setting is absolutely breathtaking and it is very serene and peaceful.

The hot tub and spa is very modern restful, and calming. It is a lovely retreat and we highly recommend avisit. "
