Lissadell House, Drumcliffe, Sligo

Lissadell - "That old Georgian Mansion" in the words of W.B. Yeats - is still owned by the Gore-Booth family. A fine but austere example of Greek-Revival architecture, it is full of many artefacts associated with succeeding generations of the family. Visitors can expect a genuine atmosphere of faded grandeur.... Lissadell House & Gardens are now closed.

Sligo County Museum, Bridge Street, Sligo

Sligo's rich Stone Age history forms the centrepiece of the most interesting exhibits on display here. There is a special section devoted to W.B Yeats. A copy of his Nobel Prize winning medal is on view together with a complete collection of his poems from 1889 to 1936, and a large body of his prose work....

The Sligo Yeats Society, Hyde Bridge, Sligo

The Sligo Yeats Society was founded in 1958, and is housed within the Yeats Memorial Building in Sligo town. Features include a number of exhibitions on the life and times of WB Yeats, the Sligo Art Gallery and the Yeats River Café....
 

The Old Schoolhouse Museum, Ballintober, Mayo

The schoolhouse, which dates form 1929, captures the atmosphere of a classroom in the embryonic Irish state and reflects a period in Irish education which straddles two centuries. The memorabilia, period school furniture, school work books, readers and photographs are complemented by a 3-dimensional display, showing models of a school teacher and pupils of the 1920s.

Kinlough Folk Museum, Barrack Street, Kinlough, Leitrim

This is a folk museum housed in an origianl building of old rural Ireland. Everything is kept to it original splendor.
There is a old kitchen here with all the authentic untensils and farm implements, old news papers are can also been found here.
The main attraction is the public bar which is still kept to it's old country style....
